Job Description

The Co-operative Group is seeking a dynamic and motivated Social Entrepreneurship Incubation Intern to join our Hub in Manchester. This entry-level internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the social enterprise ecosystem, working alongside experienced mentors and innovators. You will play a vital role in supporting aspiring social entrepreneurs, helping them navigate the challenges of launching and scaling impactful businesses. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the coordination and delivery of incubation program activities, workshops, and events.
  • Support social entrepreneurs with research, resource identification, and business plan development.
  • Help manage communication channels for the incubation hub, including newsletters and social media updates.
  • Conduct market research and impact assessments for social enterprise projects.
  • Provide administrative support to the incubation team, including scheduling meetings and managing databases.
  • Contribute to the creation of reports and presentations on program progress and outcomes.
  • Engage with the local social enterprise community and external partners.
  • Document best practices and lessons learned from incubated ventures.

Required Skills

  • Strong interest in social entrepreneurship, community development, and ethical business practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and take initiative.
  • A proactive and positive attitude.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Business, Social Sciences, Economics, Environmental Studies, or a related field.
  • Previous volunteer experience with community projects or social initiatives.
  • Familiarity with social media management platforms.
  • Basic understanding of project management principles.
