Job Description
Are you passionate about people and eager to kick-start your career in Human Resources? Accor is offering an exciting and fully paid Internship for a Junior HR Assistant in our corporate office in Cairns. This is a fantastic entry-level opportunity designed for individuals with no prior HR experience who are keen to learn and grow within a leading global hospitality company. You will receive comprehensive training and mentorship, gaining hands-on experience across various HR functions, from recruitment and onboarding to employee relations and HR administration. This internship provides a unique chance to understand the operational complexities of HR within a dynamic, fast-paced environment and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the recruitment process, including posting job advertisements, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews.
- Support the onboarding of new employees, preparing new hire packets and assisting with orientation.
- Maintain and update employee records and HR databases with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Assist in the coordination of HR projects and initiatives, such as employee engagement activities.
- Provide administrative support to the HR team, including filing, data entry, and correspondence.
- Help prepare HR reports and presentations as needed.
- Respond to routine HR inquiries and direct more complex issues to the appropriate team member.
- Learn and apply company HR policies and procedures.
Required Skills
- High level of enthusiasm and a strong desire to learn.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to take initiative.
- No prior HR experience is required; full training will be provided.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree/diploma program in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of employment laws and HR best practices (or a keen interest to learn).
- Experience in a customer service or administrative role.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
