Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Dental Hygienist to join our thriving practice on the Gold Coast. This is an outstanding opportunity for a qualified professional to contribute to a patient-focused team in a modern clinical setting. You will be instrumental in providing comprehensive oral hygiene services, educating patients on optimal oral health practices, and working collaboratively with our dentists and support staff to ensure the highest standards of patient care. We offer a high daily rate commensurate with experience and dedication.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive dental hygiene assessments, including periodontal charting and risk assessments.
- Provide thorough scaling, root planing, and prophylaxis procedures.
- Administer topical fluoride treatments and apply dental sealants.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, diet, and disease prevention.
- Take and process dental radiographs as needed.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
- Collaborate with dentists to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment according to infection control guidelines.
- Contribute to a positive and professional clinic environment.
Required Skills
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Dental Hygienist.
- Bachelor's degree or Advanced Diploma in Oral Health/Dental Hygiene.
- Proven clinical proficiency in a wide range of hygiene procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with both patients and colleagues.
- Ability to educate and motivate patients effectively.
- Proficiency in using dental software for charting and scheduling.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to ethical standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience in a private dental practice.
- Experience with Exact dental software.
- Local anaesthesia permit (where applicable in Queensland).
- Active participation in professional dental hygiene associations.
