Job Description

Are you passionate about the mysteries of the deep sea and the critical role oceanography plays in understanding our changing planet? RSK Group is offering an exciting entry-level internship for an Oceanography & Deep Sea Exploration Intern based in Merthyr Tydfil. This unique opportunity is designed for individuals with little to no prior experience, offering comprehensive training and hands-on involvement in real-world marine research and data analysis projects. You will gain foundational knowledge in oceanographic principles, data collection techniques, and the use of specialized equipment, contributing to projects that impact environmental conservation and sustainable development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior oceanographers and marine scientists with research tasks and data collection.
  • Learn and apply basic oceanographic data processing and analysis techniques.
  • Support the preparation of reports and presentations on project findings.
  • Participate in fieldwork preparation, including equipment checks and logistics (potential for limited field exposure if opportunities arise).
  • Maintain accurate records of data and research activities.
  • Engage in continuous learning about marine science and deep-sea exploration technologies.
  • Contribute to team meetings and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
