Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Mathematics Teacher to join our thriving secondary department. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, engaging mathematics lessons to students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5 (ages 11-18).
- Plan, prepare, and assess challenging and differentiated learning experiences tailored to student needs.
- Monitor student progress diligently, provide timely and constructive feedback, and implement effective interventions where necessary.
- Actively contribute to the ongoing development and review of the mathematics curriculum.
- Participate enthusiastically in departmental meetings, school-wide events, and continuous professional development programs.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages student participation and critical thinking.
- Communicate effectively and regularly with parents/guardians regarding student performance, progress, and overall well-being.
- Uphold the school's values and policies, particularly concerning student safeguarding and welfare.
Required Skills
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognized teaching qualification.
- A Bachelor's degree or higher in Mathematics or a closely related field.
- Demonstrable ability to teach mathematics effectively to high school students, including preparation for GCSE and A-level examinations (or international equivalents).
- Excellent classroom management techniques and strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
- Proficiency in utilising educational technology to enhance teaching and learning experiences.
- A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Master's degree in Mathematics Education or a relevant pedagogical field.
- Previous experience with UK national curriculum frameworks, specifically GCSE and A-level.
- Experience working effectively with international students or within a culturally diverse school setting.
- Prior experience in pastoral care or a form tutor role.
