Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and curious Sociolinguistics & Dialectology Research Intern to join our team. This entry-level internship is perfect for individuals passionate about language variation, social contexts of language use, and regional dialects, even without prior professional research experience. You will gain practical experience in data collection, transcription, analysis, and report preparation under the guidance of experienced researchers. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to ongoing projects and develop foundational skills in linguistic research.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the collection and transcription of linguistic data from various sources.
- Support the organization and management of research data archives.
- Participate in preliminary data analysis, identifying patterns and trends in speech.
- Help prepare literature reviews and summaries of relevant academic texts.
- Contribute to the drafting of research reports, presentations, and publications.
- Attend and actively participate in team meetings and research discussions.
- Learn and apply ethical research practices and data privacy protocols.
- Utilize specialized software for linguistic analysis and data management (training provided).
