Job Description
Are you eager to kickstart a career in property maintenance but lack experience? Greystar is seeking a motivated and hands-on Property Maintenance Assistant (Handyman/Mate) for our properties in Northern Liberties, Philadelphia. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals who are reliable, enjoy working with their hands, and are keen to learn the essential skills of property upkeep. You will work alongside experienced technicians, gaining practical knowledge and contributing to the excellent condition of our residential communities. Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior maintenance technicians with routine property repairs and preventative maintenance tasks.
- Perform basic maintenance duties such as changing light bulbs, unclogging minor drains, and basic painting.
- Help prepare vacant units for new residents, including light cleaning and minor touch-ups.
- Conduct regular property walk-throughs to identify and report any maintenance issues.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, storage rooms, and equipment.
- Learn to use various hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Provide friendly and professional service to residents when on-site.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
Required Skills
- Eagerness to learn and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of common household tools (e.g., screwdrivers, wrenches, hammers).
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
