Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Technical Project Manager to join our innovative team in Newbury, Berkshire. In this critical role, you will be responsible for leading complex technical projects from conception through to successful delivery. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product development, and operations, to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record in managing diverse project portfolios within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and closing of complex technical projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocation to effectively manage project timelines and budgets.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful outcomes.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project teams, stakeholders, and external vendors.
- Manage project budgets, tracking expenditure and ensuring financial objectives are met.
- Conduct post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and improve future project management processes.
- Mentor and guide junior project team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (3+ years) in technical project management, preferably within the telecommunications or IT industry.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Jira, Microsoft Project).
- Solid technical background with understanding or hands-on experience in software development, network infrastructure, or systems engineering.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification.
- Experience with large-scale enterprise deployments or digital transformation projects.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and DevOps practices.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
