Job Description
Join the elite team at U.S. Customs and Border Protection as a Trainee Immigration Enforcement Officer. Key Responsibilities
- Participate actively and successfully complete all phases of paid academic and field training programs.
- Learn and apply federal immigration laws, regulations, and enforcement policies.
- Observe and assist experienced officers in conducting inspections, interviews, and investigations.
- Develop proficiency in physical control techniques, firearms usage, and other tactical skills.
- Adhere to strict ethical guidelines, professional conduct, and agency standards.
- Prepare accurate and detailed reports and documentation related to enforcement activities.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues, supervisors, and the public.
- Understand and utilize various law enforcement tools and technologies.
Required Skills
- U.S. Citizenship
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background investigation, polygraph examination, and drug test
- Ability to pass a physical fitness test and medical examination
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to learn and adapt to new concepts and procedures quickly
- Commitment to public service and upholding the law
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in criminal justice, law enforcement, or a related field
- Fluency in a second language (especially Spanish)
- Previous experience in a related field (e.g., security, military, customer service)
- Leadership experience or demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
