Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Infrastructure Manager to lead our infrastructure team in Airdrie, Alberta. This pivotal role involves overseeing the planning, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of our IT infrastructure, ensuring robust, secure, and highly available systems for our operations. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with a proven track record in managing complex IT environments, driving continuous improvement, and fostering a collaborative team culture. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of IT infrastructure professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement IT infrastructure strategies in alignment with business objectives and growth plans.
- Oversee the design, installation, configuration, and maintenance of server, storage, network, and cloud infrastructure.
- Ensure the security, integrity, and availability of all IT systems and data through robust backup, disaster recovery, and cybersecurity measures.
- Manage vendor relationships, service level agreements, and procurement processes for IT hardware, software, and services.
- Develop and manage the IT infrastructure budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and optimal resource utilization.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive solutions to prevent outages.
- Lead IT infrastructure projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal IT policies and procedures.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure management or a similar leadership role.
- Deep expertise in network infrastructure (LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPNs), server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux), and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Proven experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and hybrid cloud environments.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, best practices, and threat mitigation.
- Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, budgets, and vendor relationships.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Industry certifications such as ITIL, PMP, CCNA, MCSA, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or Azure Administrator Associate.
- Experience with DevOps practices and automation tools.
- Knowledge of Canadian data privacy laws and regulations.
