Job Description
Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to be part of Ottawa’s vibrant event scene? Spectra Canada is seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team as Event Stewards/Ushers for weekend work. This is an entry-level position, and no prior experience is required – full training will be provided! You’ll play a crucial role in ensuring our guests have a safe, enjoyable, and unforgettable experience at various events.
Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and assist guests with directions and information about the event and venue.
- Efficiently scan tickets and guide attendees to their designated seats.
- Maintain order and assist with crowd management to ensure a smooth flow of pedestrian traffic.
- Act as a first point of contact for guest inquiries, concerns, and feedback, resolving issues courteously or escalating when necessary.
- Monitor assigned sections for safety hazards, unauthorized activities, or medical emergencies, and report promptly to supervisors.
- Enforce venue policies and procedures respectfully to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all patrons.
- Assist with event setup and teardown as needed, including minor cleaning tasks.
- Work collaboratively with other event staff and security personnel.
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
- Reliability and punctuality, especially for scheduled weekend shifts.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during events.
- A strong commitment to guest safety and satisfaction.
- Legally eligible to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service or public-facing role (e.g., retail, hospitality, volunteer work) is an asset but not required.
- Basic knowledge of first aid or CPR certification is a plus.
- Ability to adapt to changing event schedules and requirements.
