Job Description
Join the Meijer bakery team in Grand Rapids as a Donut Glazing Rack Cleaner! This essential entry-level role ensures the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene in our bustling bakery department. You will be responsible for meticulously cleaning and sanitizing the racks and equipment used in the donut glazing process, contributing directly to the quality and safety of our famous donuts. If you’re a diligent and reliable individual who takes pride in a job well done, and enjoys a sweet treat, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. Full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Thoroughly clean and sanitize donut glazing racks, trays, and other bakery equipment.
- Adhere strictly to all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation protocols.
- Safely handle and store cleaning chemicals in accordance with company guidelines.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment within the bakery.
- Promptly report any equipment malfunctions, maintenance needs, or safety hazards to management.
- Assist with other general cleaning duties or light tasks within the bakery department as needed.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, bending, lifting (up to 25 lbs), and repetitive motions.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Comfortable working in a warm and potentially sticky or wet environment.
- Willingness to learn and follow detailed cleaning procedures.
- Basic understanding of sanitation principles (full training will be provided).
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a food service, cleaning, or similar environment is a plus but not required.
- Ability to obtain a food handler's permit (if required, assistance will be provided).
