Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Oil and Gas Engineer to join our dynamic team in Reading. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering engineering solutions for complex oil and gas projects, from conceptual design through to commissioning and operational support. This role involves applying advanced engineering principles to optimize performance, ensure safety, and comply with industry regulations. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and contribute to projects that enhance efficiency and sustainability within the energy sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed engineering calculations and design analyses for various oil and gas systems and equipment.
- Develop and review technical specifications, datasheets, P&IDs, and other engineering documentation.
- Participate in HAZOP, LOPA, and other safety review sessions.
- Provide technical support during project execution, construction, and commissioning phases.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, codes, and client specifications.
- Collaborate with project managers, clients, and vendors to ensure successful project delivery.
- Identify and implement opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Petroleum, Mechanical, or Process Engineering.
- Proven experience in the oil and gas industry, specifically within design, operations, or project engineering.
- Strong understanding of oil and gas processing technologies, equipment, and systems.
- Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II) or relevant CAD software.
- Familiarity with international industry codes and standards (e.g., API, ASME, ISO).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or PhD in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or working towards it.
- Experience with upstream, midstream, or downstream project phases.
- Knowledge of digital twins, advanced analytics, or automation in the oil and gas sector.
- Project management experience or certifications.
