Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and physically capable individuals to join our team as a Wedding Venue Setup Assistant. This is a crucial role involving weekend work, focusing on the meticulous preparation and transformation of our venue spaces for weddings and other special events. You will be responsible for setting up and dismantling furniture, décor, and various event elements according to precise layouts and high standards. This is a hands-on, physically demanding position that requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team to ensure our venue looks perfect for every celebration.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the setup of tables, chairs, linen, and other furniture as per event layouts and floor plans.
- Place and arrange decorative items, centrepieces, and signage with precision.
- Load, unload, and transport event equipment and supplies.
- Ensure all venue areas are clean, tidy, and presentable before guest arrival.
- Support the event coordination team with ad-hoc tasks as required during setup and teardown.
- Dismantle event setups efficiently and safely after events conclude.
- Store equipment and décor in an organized manner.
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and venue policies.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling heavy objects (up to 20kg).
- Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.
- Reliable and punctual, especially for weekend shifts.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work independently or as part of a team.
- Positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
- Effective communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a hospitality, events, or manual labor role is beneficial but not essential.
- Familiarity with wedding venue operations.
- Basic understanding of health and safety procedures.
