Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Commissioning Engineer to join our dynamic team in Pocatello. This role is crucial for ensuring the successful startup and operational handover of complex industrial and infrastructure projects. The Commissioning Engineer will be responsible for leading and executing commissioning activities, verifying system integrity, validating performance against design specifications, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute commissioning plans, procedures, and schedules for various systems and equipment.
- Oversee and perform pre-commissioning checks, functional tests, and integrated system testing.
- Collaborate with engineering, construction, and operations teams to resolve technical issues during commissioning.
- Ensure all commissioning activities comply with project specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.
- Prepare comprehensive commissioning reports, handover documentation, and as-built drawings.
- Provide technical support and training to operations personnel on new systems and equipment.
- Identify and troubleshoot system malfunctions and implement corrective actions.
- Manage and coordinate external vendors and subcontractors during commissioning phases.
- Participate in client meetings and provide regular updates on commissioning progress and challenges.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in commissioning, startup, or field engineering roles.
- Strong understanding of industrial control systems (PLC, DCS), instrumentation, and electrical systems.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting P&IDs, electrical schematics, and mechanical drawings.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Eligibility for employment sponsorship in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or actively pursuing licensure.
- Experience with specific industry standards (e.g., API, ASME, ISA).
- Familiarity with project management software and tools.
- Previous experience working on large-scale industrial or government projects.
- Master's degree in Engineering or a related field.
