Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and reliable Road Marker Helpers to join our night shift crew in Burnie, Tasmania. This is a crucial on-site role that supports our road marking operations, ensuring the safety and efficiency of our road networks. While no direct experience in road marking is required, a strong work ethic, physical fitness, and a commitment to safety are essential. You will receive comprehensive training to perform your duties effectively. This position offers high hourly pay rates to compensate for night work and the demanding nature of the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior road marking technicians in setting up and operating road marking equipment.
- Safely load and unload materials, including paint, beads, and signage.
- Perform basic traffic control duties, such as setting up cones, barriers, and temporary signage to ensure site safety.
- Clean and maintain equipment and work vehicles.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, as well as relevant traffic management plans.
- Prepare road surfaces for marking, including sweeping and basic cleaning.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to work consistent night shifts.
- Physical fitness and capability to perform manual labor in varying weather conditions.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Team player with good communication skills.
- Valid Australian driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current Construction Induction Card (White Card).
- Previous experience in outdoor manual labor or construction.
- Basic first aid certification.
- Traffic management or control tickets (e.g., Yellow Card).
