Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Distance Learning Coordinator to join our team. This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to work from home while supporting the public education system in Broward County. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and managing our distance learning programs, ensuring seamless educational experiences for students and providing comprehensive support to educators. This role requires a strong understanding of educational technology, curriculum development, and project management within a K-12 public school context.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive distance learning programs and initiatives.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and IT staff to integrate effective online learning tools and platforms.
- Provide training and ongoing support to educators on best practices for virtual instruction and digital content creation.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of distance learning programs, recommending improvements and adjustments.
- Manage online learning platforms, ensuring accessibility, functionality, and security.
- Research and recommend new educational technologies and innovative distance learning strategies.
- Develop and maintain documentation, resources, and guidelines for distance learning.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for technical support and pedagogical guidance related to remote learning.
- Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal regulations regarding online education.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration among stakeholders involved in distance learning initiatives.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Educational Technology, Instructional Design, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in educational technology, instructional design, or distance learning coordination.
- Proven experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Canvas, Google Classroom, or Blackboard.
- Strong understanding of K-12 curriculum standards and instructional strategies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical information clearly.
- Proficiency in project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to train and support educators in technology integration.
- Experience with multimedia content creation tools for education.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Educational Technology or Instructional Design.
- Florida Educator's Certificate.
- Experience working within a large public school district.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) for online content.
- Familiarity with data analysis for educational program evaluation.
