Job Description
Are you a friendly and approachable individual looking for an easy-to-learn role where you can make a difference in customers’ shopping experience? Tesco in Southend-on-Sea is seeking a Self-Checkout Monitor to join our team. This is a fantastic entry-level opportunity, perfect for those with no prior experience in retail, as full training will be provided. Your primary role will be to assist customers using our self-checkout tills, ensuring a smooth and efficient process, and providing help with any issues they may encounter. Key Responsibilities
- Proactively engage with customers using self-checkout tills, offering assistance and guidance.
- Monitor the self-checkout area to ensure smooth operations and address any potential issues promptly.
- Help customers with scanning items, payment processes, and resolving minor technical glitches.
- Handle age-restricted sales by verifying identification as required.
- Maintain a clean and tidy self-checkout area, ensuring trolleys and baskets are available.
- Provide excellent customer service, answering queries and directing customers to relevant departments when necessary.
- Assist with other ad-hoc tasks as directed by the store management team.
