Job Description
Hobbycraft Mansfield is seeking a passionate and skilled Sewing Tutor to join our team. This role involves leading engaging sewing workshops, teaching various techniques to customers of all skill levels, from beginners to more advanced crafters. You will inspire creativity, provide expert guidance, and help our customers bring their sewing projects to life. If you have a deep knowledge of sewing, excellent teaching abilities, and a friendly demeanor, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging sewing workshops and classes for individuals and groups.
- Teach a variety of sewing techniques, including machine sewing, hand sewing, pattern reading, alterations, and fabric knowledge.
- Provide one-on-one guidance and support to students during workshops.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and inspiring learning environment.
- Prepare materials and equipment needed for each class.
- Promote Hobbycraft products relevant to sewing and crafting.
- Keep up-to-date with current sewing trends and techniques.
- Handle customer inquiries and provide excellent customer service.
Required Skills
- Proven expertise in various sewing techniques (machine and hand sewing).
- Ability to read and interpret sewing patterns.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Patience and enthusiasm for teaching and inspiring others.
- Knowledge of different fabric types and their uses.
- Experience with sewing machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a teaching or tutoring role, especially in a creative field.
- A relevant qualification in textiles, fashion, or arts and crafts.
- Experience working with diverse age groups and skill levels.
- First Aid certification.
- Portfolio showcasing sewing projects.
