Job Description
WestRock is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Printing Press Operator to join our dynamic team in Oxnard, CA. In this vital role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining printing presses to produce high-quality printed materials. You will ensure that all products meet our rigorous quality standards and production deadlines. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate multi-color printing presses according to job specifications.
- Monitor press run for quality and consistency, making necessary adjustments to maintain standards.
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs on printing equipment.
- Ensure proper ink and material handling, including loading and unloading paper rolls or sheets.
- Conduct quality checks throughout the production process to identify and correct defects.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize production efficiency and quality.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience operating printing presses in a manufacturing setting.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting job orders, diagrams, and specifications.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent color perception and attention to detail.
- Ability to perform quality control checks and make adjustments.
- Understanding of safety procedures and practices in a manufacturing environment.
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with specific press types (e.g., Heidelberg, Komori, KBA).
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and machine interface.
- Certification in printing technology or a related field.
