Job Description

The City of Katy Public Works Department is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Trainee Surveying Technician to join our Department of Lands team. Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior surveyors and technicians with various field and office tasks.
- Learn to operate and maintain surveying equipment such as total stations, GPS units, and data collectors.
- Set up and take down equipment at job sites, ensuring proper calibration and safety protocols.
- Record accurate field notes, measurements, and observations.
- Clear brush and obstacles to establish clear lines of sight for surveying.
- Help with data entry and basic drafting under supervision.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and departmental procedures.
- Actively participate in training sessions and seek opportunities for continuous learning.
