Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and reliable Aviation Parts Courier to join our fast-paced logistics team in Provo, UT. This critical role involves the time-sensitive pickup and delivery of essential aviation components to and from designated locations, including airports, repair facilities, and warehouses. You will be responsible for ensuring the safe, secure, and prompt transportation of high-value parts, directly contributing to the operational readiness of aircraft. A clean driving record and a strong commitment to safety and punctuality are paramount. This is an active role requiring efficient route planning, careful handling of delicate items, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute timely and efficient pickup and delivery of aviation parts following established routes and schedules.
- Safely transport high-value and often fragile aircraft components, adhering to all handling and security protocols.
- Verify contents of shipments against manifest, ensuring accuracy and reporting discrepancies immediately.
- Operate company vehicles in a safe and responsible manner, observing all traffic laws and company policies.
- Maintain a detailed log of deliveries and pickups, including timestamps and recipient signatures.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding delivery status or issues.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintain cleanliness of the delivery vehicle.
- Adhere to all FAA regulations and company aviation safety standards related to ground transport.
- Assist with loading and unloading of parts as needed, utilizing appropriate equipment.
Required Skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (no major infractions within the last 3-5 years).
- Proven ability to operate a commercial vehicle safely and efficiently.
- Strong geographical knowledge of the Provo and surrounding Utah County area.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 lbs unassisted.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a courier, delivery, or logistics role, especially with time-critical or specialized cargo.
- Familiarity with aviation terminology or parts.
- Experience using GPS navigation and route optimization software.
- Customer service experience in a fast-paced environment.
