Job Description

Are you looking for a stable career with a company that invests in your growth? Orkin is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Pest Control Exclusion Technician. This is an entry-level position where no prior experience is necessary – we provide comprehensive, paid training! As an Exclusion Technician, you will play a crucial role in preventing pest infestations by identifying and sealing entry points in residential and commercial buildings. You will learn expert techniques to fortify structures against common pests, contributing directly to the health and safety of our communities. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections of buildings to identify potential pest entry points such as cracks, crevices, and gaps.
  • Utilize various materials and tools (e.g., sealants, mesh, flashing) to effectively seal and secure structures against pests.
  • Communicate effectively with customers about the exclusion process and preventative measures.
  • Maintain accurate records of services performed and materials used.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies while on job sites.
  • Manage and organize company equipment and vehicles.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to complete daily assignments.

Required Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify small entry points.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Comfortable with heights, climbing ladders, and working in various weather conditions.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks requiring bending, kneeling, and crawling.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience in construction, maintenance, or a related trade is a plus, but not required.
  • A mechanical aptitude and comfort with using hand and power tools.
