Key Responsibilities
- Participate actively in all provided paid training programs to understand customs clearance procedures.
- Assist senior customs specialists with preparing and processing import and export documentation.
- Verify data accuracy on declarations, invoices, and other shipping documents.
- Communicate with internal departments and, under supervision, with clients to gather necessary information.
- Learn to utilize customs software and systems for data entry and query resolution.
- Maintain organized records of all customs-related documentation.
- Stay updated on relevant customs regulations and trade compliance requirements.
- Support the team in resolving minor customs-related issues and discrepancies.
- Perform general administrative duties as required to support the customs clearance department.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong willingness to learn and adapt to new information and procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite, email).
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Some prior experience in an office administrative role is a plus but not required.
- Familiarity with basic geography or international logistics concepts is a bonus.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is advantageous.
