Job Description
Are you passionate about events and looking to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic luxury resort environment? The JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Unpaid Intern – Event Planning Assistant. This entry-level internship is perfect for individuals with no prior experience in event planning, providing comprehensive training and an invaluable opportunity to learn from industry professionals. You will support our events team in the meticulous planning and execution of various events, gaining exposure to all facets of event management.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the events team with administrative tasks, including data entry, filing, and preparing event documentation.
- Support the coordination of event logistics, such as vendor communication, scheduling, and material preparation.
- Help with on-site event setup, registration, and breakdown, ensuring a seamless experience for guests.
- Research potential vendors, themes, and creative ideas for upcoming events.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments to ensure event requirements are met.
- Attend event planning meetings and contribute ideas and insights.
- Shadow senior event planners to learn best practices and operational procedures.
- Maintain organized records of event details and client information.
