Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Occupational Therapist to join our dedicated pediatric team in Wimbledon. This is a unique opportunity for an enthusiastic professional to make a significant impact on the lives of children and their families. As an Occupational Therapist focusing on pediatrics, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing therapeutic interventions for children with a wide range of developmental, physical, and cognitive challenges. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for pediatric patients, identifying needs and setting client-centered goals.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to promote skill development, independence, and participation in daily activities.
  • Provide therapy for children facing challenges related to sensory processing, fine motor skills, gross motor skills, visual perception, self-care, and play.
  • Collaborate effectively with families, caregivers, teachers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated care and support.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records in accordance with professional and organizational standards.
  • Educate families and caregivers on therapeutic techniques and strategies for home-based support.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to case discussions.
  • Stay abreast of best practices and advancements in pediatric occupational therapy through continuous professional development.

Required Skills

  • Qualified Occupational Therapist with a degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy.
  • Current or eligible for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) in the UK.
  • A minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience working in pediatric occupational therapy.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess, plan, and deliver effective therapy for children with diverse needs.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a patient-centered approach.
  • Understanding of child development and relevant therapeutic approaches.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with specific pediatric populations (e.g., autism spectrum disorder, cerebral palsy, sensory integration dysfunction).
  • Post-graduate training or certifications relevant to pediatric OT.
  • Familiarity with UK healthcare systems and practices (training will be provided for international applicants).
  • Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
