Job Description

We are seeking a talented and motivated Platform Engineer to join our growing technology team in Swansea. As a Platform Engineer, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining our core infrastructure and services, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance. You will work closely with development teams to provide robust, self-service platforms and tooling that accelerate software delivery and improve operational efficiency. This role requires a strong understanding of cloud platforms, automation, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code principles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage scalable and secure cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate software deployments and releases.
  • Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Collaborate with development teams to identify and resolve platform-related challenges.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues, ensuring high availability and reliability.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our platform, tools, and processes.
  • Ensure compliance with security best practices and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD principles and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
  • Solid scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash, Go).
  • Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure Administrator Associate).
  • Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
  • Knowledge of network fundamentals and security best practices.
  • Previous experience in a large-scale, enterprise environment.
