Job Description
We’re seeking a passionate and friendly Craft Beer / Bottle Shop Advisor to join our team in York. This role is perfect for someone with a genuine interest in craft beer, a desire to learn more, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service. You’ll be the go-to person for our customers seeking advice on our diverse selection of beers, helping them explore new tastes and find their favourites. Evening shifts are a key part of this role, so flexibility and a positive attitude towards working in a lively atmosphere are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with customers to understand their preferences and recommend craft beers and other beverages.
- Maintain a high level of product knowledge regarding our beer selection, including styles, breweries, and food pairings.
- Ensure the bottle shop area is well-stocked, clean, and visually appealing.
- Process sales accurately and efficiently using our POS system.
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving deliveries and rotating stock.
- Contribute to a positive and friendly atmosphere within the store.
- Handle customer queries and resolve issues professionally.
- Adhere to all licensing laws and company policies.
- Support team members with general store duties as needed.
Required Skills
- A genuine interest in craft beer and a willingness to learn.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work evening shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer proficiency for POS operations.
- Must be 18 years or older due to alcohol sales regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail or hospitality, particularly in a beverage-related role.
- Familiarity with various craft beer styles and brands.
- Experience with stock management and merchandising.
- A track record of exceeding customer expectations.
