Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Medical Equipment Delivery & Setup Driver to join our team in Edmond, OK. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation, delivery, and professional setup of various medical equipment, with a primary focus on hospital beds, to residences and healthcare facilities. This position requires strong physical stamina, excellent customer service skills, and a commitment to patient comfort and safety. Full training will be provided on equipment handling and setup procedures, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start a career in medical logistics.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely load, transport, and unload medical equipment, including hospital beds, oxygen concentrators, and mobility aids.
- Deliver equipment to patient homes, clinics, and hospitals in Edmond and surrounding areas.
- Professionally set up and install medical equipment according to manufacturer guidelines and patient needs.
- Provide basic instructions to patients or caregivers on the safe operation and maintenance of equipment.
- Perform routine vehicle checks and maintenance to ensure safe operation.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, equipment inventory, and service documentation.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
- Handle patient inquiries and concerns with empathy and professionalism.
Required Skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift and maneuver heavy medical equipment (up to 75 lbs regularly)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Customer service oriented approach
- Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment assembly and setup
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in delivery or logistics
- Experience in a healthcare or customer-facing role
- Familiarity with medical terminology or equipment
- CPR and First Aid certification
