Job Description
Embark on a vital career path with the San Antonio Water System as a Trainee Water Treatment Plant Operator. Key Responsibilities
- Participate actively in all provided training programs, both classroom and on-the-job.
- Learn to monitor plant operations, including water flow, chemical levels, and equipment status.
- Assist certified operators in routine checks and adjustments of treatment processes.
- Document readings, observations, and maintenance activities accurately.
- Understand and adhere to all safety protocols and environmental regulations.
- Perform basic maintenance and housekeeping tasks around the plant.
- Develop a foundational understanding of water quality testing and analysis.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend English instructions.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn complex systems.
- Basic computer proficiency for data entry and monitoring.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required.
- Valid Texas Driver's License and a clean driving record.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
