Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Midwife to join our dedicated team in Washington D.C. This vital role involves providing comprehensive care to women throughout their pregnancy, labor, birth, and postnatal period. You will play a crucial part in ensuring the health and well-being of both mother and baby, delivering personalized, evidence-based care in a supportive environment. Key Responsibilities
- Provide full scope midwifery care, including antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care to women and newborns.
- Conduct comprehensive health assessments, develop individualized care plans, and monitor patient progress.
- Educate women and their families on pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
- Respond to obstetric emergencies and provide appropriate interventions, collaborating with medical teams as needed.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with professional and organizational standards.
- Participate in continuous professional development and quality improvement initiatives.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations regarding midwifery practice.
- Offer emotional support and guidance to women and families during a significant life event.
Required Skills
- Current registration as a Midwife in Washington D.C. or eligibility to obtain.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent, followed by a Master's or Doctorate in Midwifery.
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Excellent clinical assessment, decision-making, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, with a patient-centered approach.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic healthcare environment.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with diverse patient populations.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
- Previous experience in a U.S. healthcare setting is a plus, but not required.
- Fluency in additional languages.
