Job Description
Are you passionate about transparency and information access? Veritas Compliance Solutions is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Entry-Level Remote Freedom of Information (FOI) Officer. This is an excellent opportunity for motivated candidates with no prior experience to kickstart a rewarding career in compliance and information governance. You will receive comprehensive training to develop expertise in processing FOI requests, ensuring adherence to legal frameworks, and maintaining high standards of data integrity. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute from anywhere in the United States while based out of our Waukegan, IL hub.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, log, and track incoming Freedom of Information (FOI) requests in accordance with established procedures.
- Conduct preliminary research to identify relevant documents and information pertinent to each request.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to gather necessary data and records.
- Assist in the review and redaction of sensitive information, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations and FOI exemptions.
- Draft clear and concise responses to requesters, explaining decisions and providing requested information.
- Maintain meticulous records and documentation of all FOI requests and responses.
- Stay updated on relevant FOI laws, regulations, and best practices through continuous learning and training.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of FOI processing workflows and internal guidelines.
