Job Description
Are you passionate about creating delightful experiences and have a love for fine chocolates? Purdy’s Chocolatier in Dartmouth is looking for a friendly and enthusiastic Part-Time Gourmet Chocolate Shop Cashier to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys engaging with customers, has a keen eye for detail, and thrives in a festive retail environment. You’ll be the face of our brand, helping customers find their perfect sweet treat and ensuring every visit is memorable. Enjoy the perk of free samples and be ready for the holiday rush!
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately process customer transactions using our point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Provide exceptional customer service, assisting customers with product selection and inquiries.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor and counter area.
- Replenish stock and ensure products are displayed attractively.
- Handle cash, process credit/debit payments, and balance the till at the end of your shift.
- Learn about our range of chocolates and confections to provide informed recommendations.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures as required.
- Support a positive and respectful team environment.
Required Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Basic math skills for accurate cash handling.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and especially during holiday periods.
- Capability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 10 kg.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a retail or customer service environment is an asset, but not required.
- A genuine passion for chocolate and confectionery.
- Familiarity with POS systems.
