Job Description
We are seeking a motivated Environmental Engineer to join our dynamic team in Manchester. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about sustainable development, environmental protection, and delivering high-quality engineering solutions. You will contribute to a diverse range of projects, from environmental impact assessments and regulatory compliance to waste management and climate change adaptation. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct environmental impact assessments and site investigations.
- Develop and implement environmental management plans.
- Ensure project compliance with local, national, and international environmental regulations.
- Prepare technical reports, proposals, and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on large-scale infrastructure and development projects.
- Contribute to the development of sustainable design solutions and climate resilience strategies.
- Participate in client meetings and stakeholder consultations.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering with an environmental focus, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in environmental consulting or engineering.
- Familiarity with UK and/or international environmental legislation and standards.
- Proficiency in environmental assessment methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented and multicultural environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in a relevant environmental discipline.
- Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership with a relevant professional body (e.g., CIWEM, IEMA).
- Experience with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS).
- Project management experience on environmental projects.
- Knowledge of contaminated land assessment and remediation techniques.
