Job Description

Gourmet Galley Catering is seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our kitchen team as a Catering Prep Hand. This is a fantastic entry-level opportunity, perfect for those with no prior experience in a professional kitchen. We provide comprehensive, on-the-job training to ensure you develop all the necessary skills to excel in this role. You will be responsible for assisting our chefs and cooks with various food preparation tasks, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and ensuring smooth operation during our busy Monday to Friday schedule. Key Responsibilities
- Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients.
- Help organize and store food supplies and equipment properly.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workstation, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and sweeping floors.
- Support the packing and loading of catering orders for delivery.
- Adhere to strict food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
- Assist with inventory checks and stock rotation as required.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, including health and safety guidelines.
Required Skills
- No prior experience required – full training provided!
- Strong willingness to learn and adapt in a kitchen environment.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Basic understanding of kitchen safety is a plus, but not essential.
Preferred Qualifications
- A current Food Handler's Certificate (or willingness to obtain one upon employment).
- Availability to work consistent Monday to Friday hours.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights.
