Job Description

Are you passionate about the ocean and eager to start a career in marine tourism? Pro Dive Sydney is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Dive Boat Assistant to join our vibrant team in Manly. This is an entry-level position – no prior dive experience is required! We will provide all the necessary training for you to become a valuable part of our dive operations. You will support our dive masters and instructors, assist customers, and ensure the smooth running of our dive excursions along Sydney’s stunning coastline. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist divers with equipment preparation and handling both on the boat and dockside.
  • Provide excellent customer service, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all passengers.
  • Help with loading and unloading dive gear, tanks, and supplies.
  • Perform general boat maintenance and cleaning tasks, including washing down, tidying, and organizing equipment.
  • Support the dive crew with pre-departure safety briefings and checks.
  • Act as a lookout and assist with maintaining a safe environment during surface intervals and while underway.
  • Learn and adhere to all company safety protocols and marine regulations.
  • Assist with basic administrative tasks as required.

  • Strong swimming ability and comfort in the water.
  • Enthusiastic attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Reliable, punctual, and a strong work ethic.
  • Physical fitness to handle dive equipment and boat operations.
  • Eligibility to work in Australia.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Basic knowledge of marine environments or boating.
  • An Open Water Diver certification (or willingness to obtain one upon commencement).
  • Customer service experience.
