Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Library Technician to join our team at the Hervey Bay campus. This role is crucial in supporting the daily operations of our library, ensuring students and staff have access to a rich collection of resources and a conducive learning environment. The successful candidate will assist with library services, resource management, and provide front-line support to our diverse user base.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide front-line customer service and assistance to students and staff regarding library resources and services.
- Assist with the circulation of library materials, including shelving, cataloguing, and processing new acquisitions.
- Manage library databases, ensuring accurate record-keeping and accessibility of digital resources.
- Support the organization and maintenance of physical library collections.
- Contribute to the promotion of library services and resources to the campus community.
- Assist with inter-library loan requests and resource sharing.
- Maintain a welcoming and orderly library environment.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in library management systems and database applications.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Sound IT literacy, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma of Library and Information Services or equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience working in an educational or public library setting.
