Job Description

BT Group Plc is offering an exciting internship opportunity for a Quantum Computing Algorithm Intern to join our innovative research team in Bournemouth. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the research, design, and analysis of quantum computing algorithms.
  • Conduct literature reviews on existing quantum algorithms and theoretical advancements.
  • Contribute to the development of quantum circuit simulations and experimental test cases.
  • Participate in data analysis and interpretation of simulation results.
  • Document research findings, code, and methodologies clearly and comprehensively.
  • Collaborate with senior researchers and engineers on various quantum computing projects.

Required Skills

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • Foundational understanding of linear algebra and probability.
  • Basic programming proficiency, preferably in Python.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm and a keen interest in quantum computing and quantum mechanics.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with basic concepts of quantum mechanics (e.g., superposition, entanglement).
  • Exposure to quantum programming frameworks such as Qiskit, Cirq, or PennyLane (academic projects or self-study welcome).
  • Experience with scientific computing libraries (e.g., NumPy, SciPy) for data analysis and simulation.
