Job Description
We are seeking a talented and dedicated Commercial Baker / Pastry Chef to join our vibrant team in Vancouver. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with a passion for baking who thrives in a dynamic kitchen environment. You will be responsible for the daily production of a wide range of breads, pastries, and other baked goods, maintaining our high standards of quality and consistency. We are open to supporting qualified international candidates, with LMIA / CoS available for the right professional. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake a variety of breads, pastries, cakes, and other baked goods according to recipes and quality standards.
- Manage inventory of baking ingredients and supplies, placing orders as needed.
- Operate and maintain baking equipment, ensuring cleanliness and proper functionality.
- Monitor baking processes to ensure consistent product quality, appearance, and taste.
- Decorate pastries and cakes as required for special orders or display.
- Adhere to strict food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and production schedules.
- Assist in developing new recipes and improving existing ones.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Commercial Baker or Pastry Chef.
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality products.
- Understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations (HACCP certification preferred).
- Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy bags of ingredients, and work in a hot environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Culinary degree or diploma with a specialization in baking or pastry arts.
- Experience with large-scale commercial baking equipment.
- Proficiency in various pastry decoration techniques.
- Previous experience in a bakery that caters to diverse customer preferences.
- Fluency in English.
