Job Description
We are seeking highly skilled and certified Air Traffic Controllers to join our operational team in Bristol. This critical role involves managing the safe and expeditious flow of air traffic within designated airspace, providing crucial information and instructions to pilots. You will be responsible for preventing collisions between aircraft, organizing and expediting the flow of air traffic, and providing information and other support for pilots. This is an on-site position requiring acute concentration, rapid decision-making, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Issue clearances and instructions to aircraft for take-off, landing, and en-route flight.
- Monitor and control aircraft movements using radar and other advanced surveillance systems.
- Provide pilots with essential information such as weather updates, runway conditions, and traffic advisories.
- Respond effectively to emergency situations, coordinating with other air traffic sectors and emergency services.
- Maintain accurate records of air traffic and operational incidents.
- Adhere strictly to all national and international aviation regulations and procedures.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless operational transitions and efficiency.
Required Skills
- Valid UK CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) Air Traffic Controller Licence with relevant unit endorsements.
- Minimum of 2 years operational experience as a certified Air Traffic Controller.
- Exceptional spatial awareness and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to make quick, accurate decisions under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (ICAO Level 4 or higher).
- Strong team working ethic and ability to collaborate effectively.
- Proficiency in using air traffic control systems and equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Specific ratings in Aerodrome, Approach, or Area Control.
- Experience with advanced air traffic management systems (e.g., iFACTS).
- A degree or equivalent qualification in an aviation-related field.
