Job Description

Join GrainCorp as a Silo Operator Assistant for a regional seasonal work opportunity based near Cairns, Queensland. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals seeking hands-on experience in the agricultural sector, particularly during harvest seasons. As an Assistant, you will play a vital role in the efficient operation of our grain receival and storage facilities, ensuring the smooth flow of produce from farm to market. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the receival, sampling, and dispatch of various grain commodities.
  • Operate basic grain handling equipment and machinery under supervision, including conveyors and weighbridges.
  • Conduct daily visual inspections of grain quality and facility condition.
  • Perform general site maintenance and cleaning duties to ensure a safe and tidy work environment.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Support the Silo Operator in monitoring grain levels and managing storage capacity.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive and productive work culture.

  • First Aid certificate.
