Job Description

Penrose-St. Francis Health Services is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Trainee Receptionist / Front Desk professional to join our team. This is a full-time, entry-level position with no prior experience required. We are committed to providing comprehensive training to the right candidate, equipping you with all the skills needed to succeed in a front-desk role within our hospital or clinic settings. Key Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome patients and visitors with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Answer incoming calls, direct them to the appropriate department or individual, and take accurate messages
- Assist with patient check-in and check-out processes, ensuring accurate demographic and insurance information
- Schedule and confirm appointments efficiently
- Maintain a tidy and organized reception area
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries
- Provide general administrative support to various departments as needed
- Handle patient inquiries and provide information in a courteous and helpful manner
- Learn and utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems for scheduling and patient management
- Adhere to all HIPAA guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality
Required Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a customer service-oriented attitude
- Basic computer proficiency (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, email)
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous experience in a customer service role (any industry)
