Job Description

We are seeking a talented and motivated Geospatial Analyst to join our dynamic team in Geelong, VIC. This role involves working across various engineering and environmental projects, providing critical spatial data analysis, mapping, and GIS support. You will be instrumental in collecting, processing, and interpreting geospatial information to assist project managers and engineers in making informed decisions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of GIS principles, data management, and a passion for applying spatial technologies to real-world challenges in the infrastructure and environmental sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced spatial analysis and modelling using GIS software.
  • Create high-quality maps, reports, and presentations to visualise geospatial data.
  • Manage and maintain geospatial databases, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Collaborate with project teams to understand their geospatial needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Conduct field data collection using GPS and other surveying equipment as required.
  • Develop and implement GIS-based solutions for project planning, design, and environmental assessments.
  • Assist in the preparation of technical proposals and project documentation.
  • Stay abreast of new GIS technologies and methodologies to continuously improve workflows.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in ArcGIS Suite (ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online).
  • Strong understanding of geospatial data principles and best practices.
  • Experience with spatial data analysis, geoprocessing, and cartography.
  • Ability to manage and manipulate large datasets.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Geospatial Science, Geomatics, Geography, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Experience with QGIS or other open-source GIS software.
  • Familiarity with remote sensing techniques and data.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Python for GIS automation.
  • Experience in an engineering or environmental consulting environment.
