Job Description

As a Hardware Systems Tech, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of various hardware systems across multiple Telstra locations within the Fremantle and broader Western Australia region. A company vehicle will be provided to facilitate travel between sites. You will work independently and as part of a team, ensuring optimal system performance and minimal downtime. This role requires strong technical skills, a problem-solving mindset, and excellent communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain hardware systems including servers, network devices, and user workstations.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues across various operating systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and routine system checks.
  • Provide on-site technical support to staff at multiple locations.
  • Document all service activities, repairs, and inventory movements.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to implement system upgrades and improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with company security policies and procedures.
  • Manage and prioritize service requests effectively.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in hardware installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong understanding of network infrastructure and protocols.
  • Experience with various operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux).
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid Australian driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, CCNA).
  • Experience in a multi-site support environment.
  • Familiarity with telecommunications hardware.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field.
