Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced WFH Study Skills Coach to join our remote team. In this role, you will provide personalized, one-on-one academic coaching and support to university students, helping them develop effective study strategies, time management skills, critical thinking, and academic writing proficiency. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from the comfort of your home while making a significant impact on student success.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct one-on-one virtual coaching sessions with university students on a variety of study skills topics.
- Help students identify their learning styles and develop personalized study plans.
- Provide guidance on time management, organization, note-taking, active reading, and exam preparation techniques.
- Assist students in improving their academic writing, research, and critical thinking abilities.
- Offer constructive feedback on assignments and projects, focusing on skill development rather than direct answers.
- Maintain accurate records of student interactions and progress.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training sessions.
- Collaborate with the wider academic support team to share best practices.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, English, or a related field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and guide students effectively.
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles and diverse learning needs.
- Proficiency with online communication and virtual meeting platforms.
- Ability to work independently and manage a schedule effectively in a remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in a relevant discipline.
- Previous experience in academic coaching, tutoring, or student support at the tertiary level.
- Familiarity with various academic referencing styles (APA, MLA, Chicago).
- Experience with learning management systems (LMS) such as Canvas, Moodle, or Blackboard.
