Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our Grand Falls-Windsor warehouse team as a Forklift Battery Changer – Warehouse Maintenance. This is an entry-level position, and we are committed to providing comprehensive training to the right candidate. You will play a crucial role in ensuring our forklifts and other powered industrial trucks remain operational by expertly managing their battery needs and contributing to general warehouse maintenance. Safety and efficiency are paramount in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently change, charge, and maintain forklift batteries according to established procedures.
  • Inspect batteries for damage, fluid levels, and overall condition, reporting any issues.
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks on battery charging equipment and battery changing stations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized battery room and work area.
  • Assist with general warehouse maintenance tasks as directed, including minor repairs, cleaning, and organization.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, company policies, and provincial regulations.
  • Operate powered industrial equipment (such as battery changers) after proper training and certification.
  • Document maintenance activities and battery usage as required.

  • Ability to learn quickly and follow instructions precisely.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects (batteries can be heavy), bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods.
  • Attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic mechanical aptitude or interest in how machinery works.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse or industrial environment (not required, but a plus).
  • Familiarity with battery handling safety practices (will be trained).
