Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Restaurant General Manager to lead one of our flagship establishments in Norwich. This pivotal role requires a proven leader with a passion for hospitality, operational excellence, and a talent for inspiring teams. As General Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the restaurant’s operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, service, and guest satisfaction. This position is open to candidates requiring a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS), and we are prepared to provide sponsorship for eligible individuals. You will drive business performance, manage financial targets, develop your team, and uphold the esteemed reputation of The Guildhall Restaurants Group.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily restaurant operations, ensuring exceptional service and product quality.
- Develop and implement strategies to achieve sales and profitability targets.
- Oversee financial management, including budgeting, cost control, and inventory.
- Recruit, train, mentor, and motivate a high-performing team, fostering a positive work environment.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Manage customer relations, handling feedback and resolving issues effectively.
- Drive marketing initiatives and local engagement to enhance restaurant visibility and patronage.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and presentation throughout the restaurant.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a restaurant management role (Assistant Manager or higher).
- Demonstrable leadership and team management skills.
- Strong financial acumen and experience with budgeting and P&L management.
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
- Proficiency in restaurant management software and POS systems.
- Deep understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Hospitality Management or a related field.
- Experience with fine dining or high-volume restaurant operations.
- Proven track record of increasing sales and improving operational efficiency.
- Certification in food hygiene management (e.g., Level 3 Food Safety).
