Job Description
We are seeking a talented and experienced Pattern Maker to join our dynamic design team in Byron Bay. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of garment construction, excellent technical skills, and a keen eye for detail. You will be responsible for creating accurate patterns for our diverse collections, ensuring fit, quality, and style are maintained from initial concept through to production.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop first patterns from design sketches and technical specifications.
- Digitize, grade, and amend patterns as required.
- Conduct fittings and make necessary adjustments to achieve desired fit and drape.
- Collaborate closely with designers, sample machinists, and production teams.
- Maintain organized pattern libraries and documentation.
- Ensure patterns meet production standards and quality control guidelines.
- Stay updated on industry best practices, new technologies, and sustainable pattern making methods.
- Oversee pattern alterations and ensure consistency across all sizes and styles.
Required Skills
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Pattern Maker in the apparel industry.
- Proficiency in CAD pattern making software (e.g., Gerber, Lectra, Optitex, Clo3D).
- Strong understanding of garment construction, fabric properties, and fit.
- Ability to interpret design sketches and translate them into accurate patterns.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Pattern Making, or a related field.
- Experience with sustainability-focused pattern making practices.
- Knowledge of grading principles and best practices.
- Previous experience in bohemian or resort wear fashion.
