Job Description

Johns Creek Transit Solutions is actively seeking highly motivated individuals to join our team as City Bus Driver Trainees. No prior bus driving experience is needed! We offer a comprehensive paid training program that will equip you with all the necessary skills and certifications, including obtaining your Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with passenger endorsements. Upon successful completion of training, you will transition into a full-time professional bus operator, responsible for safely transporting passengers across Johns Creek. Key Responsibilities
- Actively participate in and successfully complete all phases of the paid CDL training program.
- Learn and adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company operating procedures.
- Safely operate transit buses on designated routes, adhering to strict schedules upon certification.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure operational safety and report any defects.
- Provide exceptional customer service, assisting passengers with inquiries and accessibility needs.
- Ensure accurate fare collection and maintain passenger counts.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and passengers.
- Maintain a clean and orderly bus environment for all passengers.
- Respond calmly and professionally to emergencies or incidents following company protocol.
Required Skills
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Possess a valid standard driver's license with a clean driving record for a minimum of 3 years.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check, drug screening, and DOT physical examination.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to procedures.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical ability to operate large vehicles and assist passengers as required (e.g., operating wheelchair ramps).
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in a customer service-oriented role.
- Familiarity with the Johns Creek area.
