Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Payroll Data Specialist to join our robust finance team in Wollongong. This role is crucial in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our payroll data for a large employee base. You will be responsible for meticulous data entry, reconciliation, and reporting, playing a key role in the smooth operation of our payroll functions. Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately input and maintain employee payroll data, including new hires, terminations, salary changes, and benefits deductions.
  • Perform regular data reconciliations to ensure accuracy between payroll systems and other HR records.
  • Generate and analyze payroll reports for internal stakeholders and compliance purposes.
  • Assist in the preparation and processing of fortnightly and monthly payroll cycles.
  • Resolve payroll data discrepancies and respond to employee inquiries related to payroll information.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of payroll data management processes and systems.
  • Ensure strict adherence to company policies, industrial awards, and statutory regulations concerning payroll.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in data entry and data management, preferably within a payroll or HR context.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data manipulation, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Understanding of confidentiality and data privacy principles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Experience with large-scale payroll software (e.g., SAP, Workday, ADP).
  • Familiarity with Australian industrial awards and payroll legislation.
  • Experience in a large corporate or banking environment.
